The Goodfield Method
What is The Goodfield Method?
The Goodfield Method™ uses video to record and capture your verbal and nonverbal messaging together. When we review the session, we can identify any misalignment between what your lips are saying and what the rest of your body is showing. This is called a Non-Verbal Leak™ (NVL) and are the entry point for the adventure to learn more about yourself, your strategies and your relationship with others.
Nonverbal signals include eye contact, gestures, breathing, and more. They reveal your unconscious motivations and hidden messages.
This is not the same as “reading body language”. With over 40 years of science behind it, the Goodfield Method is more targeted and effective. It decodes, quantifies, and organizes nonverbal messages to quickly identify a core issue and find a solution. In addition, the unique NVL is matched to one of the 12 Goodfield Personality Types™ to further define and categorize your decision-making and leadership styles. It will give you insight, understanding, and a practical and tangible action plan.
Dr. Goodfield perfected this method over his 40+ years of clinical experience. Freud theorized that the unconscious could be seen, and Dr. Goodfield proved it with the NVL. The NVL is one of the key concepts of the Goodfield Method. In 1976 he received a US patent for his discovery.
What It Reveals
The Goodfield Method™ explains:
How to recognize the Non-Verbal Leak™,
How to analyze the meaning and significance of the Leak, and
The appropriate actions to take.
The Non-Verbal Leak is one of the key concepts of The Goodfield Method. Dr. Goodfield developed 12 possible personality types, which reflect unique perceptions and responses to patterns regarding decision making and leadership styles.
It is a way of looking at the strategies that the individual presents in his total nonverbal behavior.
The ability to read the NVL makes it possible to:
Read the earlier unconscious imprints
Profile the personality type
Infer the basic response to major events
Quickly determine a specific problem area that needs work
The Non-Verbal Leak (NVL)
The Non-Verbal Leak™ (NVL) is the cornerstone of The Goodfield Method™. It is observable, learnable, and testable. It reflects the other half of our message, a half that we may not even know about ourselves.
Because the leak comes from the unconscious, you can’t control, modify, or prevent it. They are consistent, repeatable, and predictable signs.
Our lives are profoundly influenced by the unconscious messages we send through our nonverbal behaviors. The ability to read and understand these messages can change the way you see yourself and others.
